2.3 Accepting an invite to the system

Once an administrator has added a new user, the user will receive an email like the one below:

In order to accept the invite, users should click the link outlined in red. This will redirect the user to the system login screen.

The login screen may offer a different set of buttons than the ones shown below. For example, for on-premise setups of InScope-AML, the Google or Microsoft button would only be shown if the organisation makes use of organisational Google or Microsoft 365 services. In the case of on-premise setups, users may even be asked to log in using Active Directory (that is the same username and password used to access services on the local network). Users should select the option that applies to their organisation.

  • The link will take you to the login screen. In the case of Google, for example, the Google login page will be shown:

Once Users have entered this information, they may be asked to allow InScope-AML to access a very limited set of information on their Google/Microsoft account – this includes basic information such as name, email address and profile picture.

Users will then be redirected to an InScope-AML page asking them to input the code provided in the email.

N.B. This is a one-time code that will expire and should be used immediately upon receipt.

Once users have entered the code they will be taken to the following screen:

Troubleshooting: The system does not ask me to enter a one-time code

After logging in, the system may redirect the user to the dashboard rather than the page asking for the one-time code. There are two reasons for this:

The first is that the user have already used the one-time code and, as the name implies, this is not required on their second login. Once the user has inputted the code once, their Microsoft/Google/Active Directory user will be linked to the user within InScope-AML.

The second reason is that the user has been invited to more than one environment. For example, if the user works for two companies within the same Group, then the user will receive two invites for InScope-AML. The first invite walks them through the process above and the user inputs the one-time code from the first email. The second invite redirects them to the login page but since the user uses the same username/password to access the system, InScope-AML will assume they want to access the InScope-AML environment for the first company.

In order to associate the InScope-AML environment with the second company, users can access the menu in the top right corner (this will display the username as well as the name of the account (company) that is currently logged into):

Users should click on the name and select Link Another Account. This will redirect to a page where users can input the one-time code from a second invite.

Once users have inputted both codes into the system, they can switch between companies by clicking on their name in the top right corner again and selecting Switch Account.
